Hi, I’m Serge! You made the right choice coming to Kiev, and I am the right person to show you around especially if you are looking for something more than ordinary sightseeing.
I believe that Kiev’s true appeal extends far beyond churches, fancy old houses, and the Maidan Square. It is the capital of Borderland (in case you have never wondered about the meaning of the word Ukraine), a crazy mixture of cultures, influences, and periods. Kiev is scarred with war marks along with weird yet beautiful imprints of harsh Soviet architecture. At least twice throughout its history, the city was demolished to its foundations and rebuilt anew. And yet it looks young and fresh, with its green hills, shadowy parks, sandy beaches along the vast Dnieper river, and numerous cafes to chill out after a long walk.
I love Kiev with all my heart. I was born here, and I’ve been living here all my life. I have also been to some great cities all around the world, so I had the chance to compare. Kiev has many faces. It can be as charming as Paris, as sleepless as New York, as ascetic as Berlin, as multicultural as Istanbul, or even as noisy as Beijing. Kiev is 100% safe, cheap, friendly and welcoming.
Unlike other great cities, Kiev’s real treasures are often hidden from the eyes of a tourist, sometimes barely visible. Looking at our city and seeing nothing special means looking at the wrong angle. My job as a guide is to provide you with a clear, undistorted picture that stays in your mind and makes you want to come back!
