In its 1500 history, Kyiv witnessed numerous tragedies and mysteries, memories of which the city shrines. The Dark Kyiv Tour is a unique opportunity to discover the different history of the capital and see places of witchcraft and dark forces, epic tragedies and breathtaking catastrophes.
We shall start at “Babiy Yar”. At this place, Nazi slaughtered over 150 000 people and then the Kurenevka Tragedy – a technological disaster happened when immense mudflow wiped away living blocks full of people. We will visit Zamkova hora that used to host the castle of Kyiv and now only ruins of monastery cemetery are there to be found. We will see “the Green Theatre” erected at remains of an ancient Kyiv fortress, which basement still holds the entrance to dungeons. You will also visit political prison of Kosoy Kopanir, the present name “Kyiv Fortress Museum”, a place from which the convicts would be sent at Lysa hora for dispatch. We will pay a visit on the very hill too as it was here, as legends have it, that witches would foregather for their Sabbath. Crowning our tour will be Kyiv Crematorium with its outstanding architecture and monumental art erased by the Soviet empire.
